Module 1.1 Overview

Welcome to our first lesson!
Module 1.2 Mindset

Storytelling can be messy and it's different every time - but don't let that stop you.
Adopt a mindset of progress over perfection to start on your path.
In this lesson we will also equip you with the tools to collaborate with your accountability partner. By working together, you can go further than you can ever go alone.

Module 1.3 Storytelling as a Mirror

Storytelling creates a unique opportunity for self reflection for the person who is being documented. By focusing on the positive, and reflecting back to them their good qualities, your storytelling can create the conditions for wonderful things to occur.
This does not mean that we don't show real challenges that occur in people's lives - it means that we show their good qualities as they face these challenges.
This video showcases the stories of two documentary participants who's lives were positively affected by taking part in the storytelling process.

Module 1.4 Pre-story Considerations

A discussion on choices that must be made before stories are told: consent, compensation and review polices.
We will discuss the pros and cons of different policies and offer our suggestions on how to approach them.
